In the 12-month period December 2016-November 2017, Twerwaneho Listeners’ Club (TLC) received 3,213 complaints. Each person’s complaint has been registered and categorised by TLC to keep track on the nature of complaints and cases in our region. We cover eight districts in the Rwenzori region: Kabarole, Kamwenge, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kasese, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa and Bunyangabu.

What Are The Complaints About?

Among the complaints the vast majority, 2 111, relate to property and land issues with institutions. You may find more information on some of these cases elsewhere on our site: UWA case, TAMTECO case, Rwenzori commodities, Busoro Local Government case, Basongora case.

The second largest group, 750 complaints, are about the economic rights. Foremost, the dispute with Ferdsult Engineering Services Ltd regarding 20 crater lakes. The third largest group of complaints are 159 regarding labour rights. Cases there are: LaFarge Holcim case on child labour and other labour claims, Rwenzori commodities case, Termination of employees’ contracts by Life Fm Co.
